‘The twelve (archaeological) days of Christmas’

Today (25th December) – Christmas Day – is considered to be the first day of Christmas. Christmas or Christmas-tide lasts for twelve days and extends from the 25th December to the 5th January. ‘The twelve days of Christmas’ is a well-known¬†traditional carol about the gifts of Christmas, full of Christian religious symbolism.
