Last call to see remains of Roman houses at the Mercury Theatre dig

The last phase of excavations at the Mercury Theatre has just started. Red pavements and the remains of more painted walls are already turning up and looking good!

The excavations won’t last long and sorry the notice is very short. But the good news is that the building contractors have kindly made it possible for the dig to overlap half term to make it easier for those with families to stop by and have a look and see what’s going on.  And what’s more, they have erected a fence down one side specially designed to give visitors a better view.

Please call in if you can. The best times will be between 10 am and 3 pm on the following days:
Thursday 30th MayFriday 31st MaySaturday 8th June (the last day). We hope you can make it!
