Roman Circus House comes to life

The former Army Education Centre building – 10 AEC as it was known – has come back to life. And it all happened over the last few days. The building has been officially renamed and now has an address and a post code. So now we have Roman Circus House, Circular Road North, Colchester CO2 7GZ. Water was restored last Thursday as were all the electrics and the alarm systems. This means we now have flushing toilets and running hot water and the building is protected. The ‘Blue Room’ upstairs has been repainted and the floor renovated in readiness for the move tomorrow (Monday 27th May) when the Trust makes the long awaited move to its new premises. Elsewhere in the building, volunteers have been helping in various ways especially cleaning and working on water-damaged plasterwork. Many thanks to Neil, Kate, Chris, and Owen for all their help over the last few days and thanks too to Gillian, Brenda and Peter for providing refreshments for the soldiers.
